6th-Dec-2007 03:06 pm - Gun toting idiots
I wonder how long it'll take Jack Thompson to start preaching about video games following yesterdays shootings (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7130504.stm), because of course, you allow disturbed people (who are probably in that state because of the school conditions in that country) to legally purchase guns and ammo and they won't go shooting people unless they have video games... Great logic!

For the record, I've played video games since I was a kid. The violent kind aswell! I've played Doom, Wolfenstine, Hitman, Godfather, Resident Evil, just to name a few of the violent titles, and so far I've never been tempted to get a gun, and walk into a crowded place and open fire.

So are violent games really to blame? Could it be that the school system in America seems designed to humiliate and degrade all but the rich, that those who do not fit in with perfection are forced to feel second rate, and that's causing people who would ordinarily be misfits to become sociopaths? And then, after giving kids these problems, you then let them buy semi-automatic guns!

You right-wing republican wankers.
WHY THE FUCKING HELL AM I SUCH A FUCKING TWATTING WANKER!
28th-Aug-2007 09:18 am - Updates Aplenty
I just noticed people are updating their LJ's... Think I'll join in.

Okay, for those of you who don't know, I'm going out with a gorgeous girl going by the name of Holly. She's just lovely.

At the start of the Summer I went to the World Scout Jamboree, and it was one of the best experiances of my life!

I got B in A level politics, B in AS philosophy and C in AS classics. Got into Swansea Uni, so I shall be studying Criminology and Psychology in the new academic year.

Umm... I think that might be it. Anyone I haven't heard from in a while, get in touch, lets go get pissed or something.

Take it easy guys,

4th-May-2007 05:36 am - A Political Entry
It's now 5.36 am. I've been up following the election coverage. I'm slightly mad and slightly sad for doing this. So here's my opinions.

For the record, I voted for Lib Dems on both ballots.

Labour are losing a lot of support. If this carries on, over the next few elections, there'll be a much fairer balance throughout the assembly.

Tories are gaining a bit, but still not breaking through on the constituency votes. 'Cos most people in Wales hate them.

Plaid are becoming the second biggest party. As much as I dislike nationalist parties, this could be a good thing.

Lib Dems have gained support, but not coming in first. They seemed to be coming in second in quite a few places. Give it a few more elections, and they may be a more serious threat. I hope this happens.

I'm glad Trish Law kept Blaenau Gwent.

It was ironic the Labour guy in the studio complaining about people using negative tactics in their campaigning, for all the other party reps to point out that the major culprets were Labour!

Hmmm... the Tories press officer brain is mush I think I just head. I know how he feels.

And now for whats been worrying me since 2am. BNP have been doing quite well in the regional vote in North Wales. It's not clear yet, but they may get a seat. If this trend continues the fascist cunts may become a serious party in politics. I hope not.

I really should go to sleep soon...

Ah Bollocks. Poor girl.

She needs me now more than ever. And I know I can be there for her to help her get through this.

URGH! I feel like utter shite!
2nd-Jan-2007 05:11 pm - As promised
Here, as promised, is a much better update.

Myself and Graham met two girls from Essex who were staying in Swansea and going to Snowjam, just after lunch on Friday. They wanted to travel up with us 'cos they didn't know the way. So in convoy we travelled.

We got to the site just after 2pm, said hello to old friends and met some new and began to work on setting things up. I was let loose with a drill to put up signs and had to wire up some cables for Dave who was djing.

The campers arrived and the party began and me and Gray did about 4 hours behind the bar! During this time a girl came up and asked me if it was my birthday. I said it wasn't, but it was last week and she said she went to my 18th birthday party - after a moment I realised that she was Sarah, my friend Alex's ex, and we had a nice chat for a bit.

We all partyed on till about 2am when the bar shut. I tried going to bed at half 2, but was woken up when Mary (one of the girls from Essex mentioned earlier) burst in and tried to wake me. She tried dragging me out of bed by my arm (actually hurt quite a bit) saying stuff about how the party was still going on. Eventually she gave up and let me and the rest of my room sleep in peace (but she did chuck my pillow accross the room first!)

We woke up bright and early the next morning, had breakfast, then decided what we would do for the day.

Gray, myself and some of our friends from Wrexham decided to go visit big pit. Was very interesting but my back hurt from all the stooping and I lost count of how many times I hit my head. Gray also took a lighter down, which could have killed us all.

We returned to the surface and went seeking food and beer. 6 pubs later, we gave up and went to Mcyd's. As we left and went round the corner, we saw a brewers fayre! Damn it!

We returned to site, then left again and went to a pub. Had a couple of drinks and a few laughs there, then returned to site late because Moz wanted another pint. Got back, and started the nights festivities. Then those of us who were dressing up, went to costume ourselves. I was a cyberman, Mat was the doctor, Moz was the empty child and Rus was a robot santa. I forgot to get out my toy sonic screwdriver which Mat was borrowing so had to return to the room, where I burst in on John and Holly who were rather occupied on the top bunk. Slightly taken aback, I made apologies and tried getting in my bag, which was impossible 'cos of my costume, so I had to call Mat in to get it, and he was followed by Rus. The couple who wanted to fornicate on the bunk were glaring at me.

So the fancy dress party kicked off. I won the prize for best monster, while Moz won best male, Sarah won best female (she was a cyberman too), a guy from Essex in a bin with a sink plunger won most imaginative use of gaffa tape, and another guy from Essex wearing a 10 foot scarf won crappest effort.

Did another bar shift - slowly getting drunker - then at midnight we all sang and danced to Auld Lang Syne for 10 minutes. Watched fireworks and my phone battery died while I tried to sent texts to my loved ones.

Partyed some more, danced a bit, got hammered, then went to bed.

Woke up, and started to tidy a bit. God, what a mess!

We all had a group photo and said our goodbyes, then me and rest of the staff started to take down the camp.

Armed with my silver wellies I did a litter pick, then helped tidy the main hall.

Dave tried getting his van inside - with humourous results.

Said our final goodbyes to everyone - then left for home!
1st-Jan-2007 10:37 pm - Resolutions
I have made a new years resolution that I will try and keep my LJ updated regularly.

So here we go:

I spent new years at snowjam, where I was on staff. Was a doctor who theme. I dressed as a cyberman for my costume for fancy dress, and I won a model kit thingy. I got rather drunk, and made a couple of new friends again.

I'll do a better post when I'm not so tired.

Vicar of Dibley now and then later on - TORCHWOOD FINALE!
